RFK Jr. Faces Major Blow as Top Spokesperson Resigns Over Measles Outbreak Mismanagement

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has suffered a major public humiliation as his Health and Human Services (HHS) Department’s top spokesperson, Thomas Corry, resigned in frustration over the administration’s failure to properly respond to the growing measles outbreak in Texas. Corry, who had been in the role for just two weeks, announced his immediate resignation on LinkedIn, signaling deep turmoil within Kennedy’s administration.

“I want to announce to my friends and colleagues that last Friday I announced my resignation effective immediately,” Corry wrote. “To my colleagues at HHS, I wish you the best and great success.”

A Health Crisis Spiraling Out of Control

The resignation comes amid a rapidly worsening measles outbreak, with 146 confirmed infections and the first U.S. measles-related death in over a decade. The vast majority of those infected are unvaccinated, highlighting the devastating consequences of vaccine misinformation—a cause for which RFK Jr. has long been infamous.

According to reports, Corry clashed with Kennedy and his deputy chief of staff, Stefanie Spear, over the chaotic handling of the outbreak. While public health officials raised alarms, RFK Jr. reportedly downplayed the crisis, stating in a recent Cabinet meeting that measles outbreaks are “not unusual.”

The Reality: A Preventable Crisis

Kennedy’s statement is misleading. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared measles eliminated in the United States in 2000 thanks to widespread vaccination efforts. However, due to the spread of anti-vaccine conspiracy theories—many of which RFK Jr. himself has promoted—measles has made a dangerous comeback.

Health experts warn that Kennedy’s refusal to take a more aggressive stance on vaccination could lead to even more preventable deaths. Corry’s resignation is a clear indication that those within the administration recognize the severity of the crisis, even if Kennedy refuses to act.

RFK Jr.’s Anti-Science Stance Under Fire

Kennedy has built his political career on pushing dangerous anti-vaccine rhetoric, and now his administration is facing the real-world consequences of those beliefs. Public health officials, doctors, and lawmakers are sounding the alarm, urging swift action to contain the outbreak before it escalates further.

As more staff members within the administration grow frustrated, the question remains: How many more preventable infections and deaths will it take before RFK Jr. changes course? His leadership is being tested—and so far, the results are disastrous.
