“I never thought I’d say this, but Social Security is under assault,” King declared in his viral video statement.
The senator detailed how Elon Musk’s allies are infiltrating Social Security databases, attempting to gain access to personal information while purging career professionals from the system.
“They’re trying to get personal information. They are pushing aside the professionals that work there. People are being fired. Regional offices are being closed,” King warned.
His warning comes in response to a jaw-dropping statement from Trump’s Treasury Secretary, Howard Lutnick, who recently claimed that retirees wouldn’t “complain” if their Social Security checks were delayed.
Millions of Seniors Rely on Social Security to Survive
King slammed Lutnick’s out-of-touch comments, reminding Americans that millions depend on Social Security to afford basic necessities:
“Well, I’m sorry, but there are people across the country—if that check doesn’t come, they’re in trouble. Medications, food, rent. There are millions of people in this country that Social Security check makes all the difference.”
He also pointed to the historic success of Social Security in reducing elderly poverty. In 1960, 35% of seniors lived below the poverty line—but thanks to Social Security, that number fell to 8.9% by 2019.
“What we’re seeing is a kind of slow-motion—actually, it’s not that slow—undermining of the structure of Social Security,” King added.
Elon Musk’s Disturbing Comments on Social Security
Elon Musk has long attacked Social Security, calling it “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.” Critics argue that Musk and Trump’s allies want to gut the system to redirect funds toward billionaires and corporations.
“It’s never enough for these people. It doesn’t matter how much suffering and death they inflict on innocent people so long as they can add a few more zeroes to their net worths,” King warned.
